Exercise 3
Exercise: Building Relationships and Trust with Stakeholders
- How would you respond to a stakeholder who feels ignored and insists their concerns have never been taken seriously?
- If a project sponsor consistently breaks commitments, how would you use trust-building behaviours to re-establish credibility?
- During a meeting, you notice a stakeholder is disengaged and silent. What practical approach could you use to build rapport with them?
Trust and rapport give you a strong foundation, but not all stakeholders think, feel, or act the same way. To engage effectively, you must also understand personality and behavioural traits that shape communication and decision-making. Module 3 will help you recognise these traits and adapt your approach.
